Buying a house is a risky operation with the times and that fact is reflected in a very significant way in the Real Estate Exhibition of Madrid (Sima) that is celebrated in the capital of 27 al 30 de mayo.
This year, what was the largest real estate fair returns to the data of the year 2000 and in this edition will not abound large and glamorous stands or exuberant promotions in which some famous character encourages us to know their products. This year will be characterized more by a certain austerity that is reflected in its technical data: a single pavilion (the number four) will be enabled for this purpose, with a space of 12.000 meters and 220 companies present. Not all of them are direct exhibitors or promoters, but the presence for appraisers, institutions, universities, financial entities, magazines and other publications will also predominate.
The absence of companies will be more significant than the presence of many of them. For example, companies such as Habitat, Larcovi, Pinar Group, Lar Group, Restaura, Duprocom, Llanera, Marina D'Or, Colonial, Avantis, Actions, Realia or CB Richard Ellis, among many others, will miss this appointment forgetting the old motto of the promoters with which they affirmed «Who is not in Sima does not exist». Even so there are still some brave, the strongest sayings, who dare to face the storm: Vallehermoso, Affirma, Mahersol Group, Bancaja Habitat, Hansa Urbana, Ferrocarrril Group, TM Torreblanca, Zapato or Hercesa.
All of them in total will offer an amount of almost 53.000 homes, of which more than 4.400 will be protected. Some 33.647 are in Spain and the rest out. According to the Association of Promoters of Madrid (Asprima), this year there are all conditions for the fair to be a success: promoters want to sell, citizens want to buy and banks are providing facilities to finance. They will do their part but now the floor is for buyers.
