I think that originality and imagination is not something that can be achieved with the passage of time, but rather the innate something with which we are all born. For example, in decoration, based on seeing objects, shapes, colors, creations, etc ... we can apply more or less accurate ideas, but if we do not have the necessary imagination we will never use a suitcase as a bedside table.
In fact, most of us, when it would have been too broken or old-fashioned to use it, could have done two things: either save it as a relic and sample from past times, or throw it away.
However, in the minds of a privileged few, this suitcase can become a fabulous bedside table in which to pose a lamp, a book to read at night or the alarm clock.
